Yoga Instructor

Tara Leigh

My Teaching Style: I thread in a theme of “exploration” into all my classes. I invite my students to push a little past their edge. Whether you are in a vigorous HourPower class with me or a rejuvenating Warn Yin yoga class, I encourage you to safely seek a little more from yourself, even if that something is simply breathing deeper in this class. My style of teaching is one that asks each and every one of you “why are you here – and how do we achieve your wellness goals together?”

About Me: I am the General Manager of LotusPedal yoga + spin. It’s literally my job to promote health and wellness. I am the mother to an amazing inquisitive little boy. I love to cook and discover new plant based food recipes/ ideas. I have a passion for adventure / travel (when we could travel). For me, “finding yourself” in foreign unknown territories is good for the soul.

Favourite Quote: “There are seven days in the week and someday is not one of them."

Favourite Movie: HARDEST question ever! So many greats! If I had to say just one (which is almost impossible for me) I would say: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Favourite Yoga Style or Pose: Sequencing from Pigeon Pose to Sleeping Swan to King Pigeon to Mermaid (ok yes that's more then one but it’s kinda one but many transitions of one pose)

When I am not teaching you will find me...: at the front desk or somewhere else in the studio here at LotusPedal. Or you will find me at home on my computer working on admin or emails or social media posts for the studio. If I am not teaching I am typically working on something else for LotusPedal. Outside of that, you will find me with my amazing little boy and husband. We may be off on some adventure hiking waterfalls or ocean kayaking or just spending time together in day-to-day life.

About Me: Slight obsessed with my dogs. I’m that annoying “half cup full” friend that tries to find the best in every situation. I was taught a long time ago that travel is the best education and would make me a better human. Glad I listened to my parents. They were right.

Why I love sharing yoga + spin to our community with LotusPedal studio: I remember going to my first few yoga classes. I was scared, felt intimidated and quite lost. I almost gave up on the practice. That experience led me is to educate, inspire and never leave anyone feeling like they don’t belong or can’t do it. You should feel safe, have fun and leave feeling like you’ve just visited some good friends. That’s what LP inspires to do!

My classes are highly motivating, animated and energetic using a lot of inspiring cues along with great music to motivate the participants to reach their next level of fitness. Yoga Instructor

Lia Barros

My Teaching Style:
I’ve been a personal trainer and active part of the local health and fitness community since 2001. My interest in personal training came from a deep desire and passion to help people reach their physical health goals and acknowledge their inner strength. In my experience the biggest hurdle for most people was carving out time from our busy schedules for ourselves and making our health and wellness a priority. I decided to become a spin instructor as I really feel it’s the perfect addition to any fitness routine. It’s low impact, burns a ton of calories, it’s very motivating to be in a group setting all working together…and best of all its only 45 minutes!! As for Yoga it has been a pivotal practice in helping me learn to balance all the different aspects of my own busy life. Through this practice I have recognized the importance of slowing down, breathing deeply and connecting to my self spiritually. I now blend my fitness, spin and yoga knowledge into a class that is sure to challenge you, get a little sweaty and ultimately leave you feeling recharged, connected, and empowered.
